Introduction
Crows have a fascinating thing called a ‘murder investigation.’ A group of crows is known as a murder, and when one dies the murder gathers around them and investigates. People once thought they were mourning, but crows know better than to mourn. Crows want to look out for the safety of the murder, so crows watch and see where the threat came from. Crows know they can fly alone, but there is more power and safety within the murder. Even two crows will make an attempted murder.
Life is a dark journey, and what better symbol for that than a black crow? A scarecrow can be a powerful symbol. Crows know that knowledge and truth are what light the darkness, and this political philosophy is one of such things. Crows watch, listen, and analyze before acting. It is always better to let your opponent make the first move so you have more data to use yours with. The first player to lay a land in Magic the gathering often reveals their entire deck with the first card played. Crows know words and actions have consequences, other animals aren’t always as smart.
The purpose of the Crow Party is to establish a political group that is neither based on true liberal or conservative models of government, but one for which people can build and work from consensus. The party will have rules for membership only to elected politicians of every level. Failure to follow them will result in expulsion, no vote. Some things in life are worth expulsion from a group for, like speaking truth to power. Any group starts dying the moment it is born, and Crows are no exception. The hope is to build something better than what has come before, and then build upon that hoping those in the future will carry the torch forward towards real justice and prosperity that will always be out of reach.
Consensus rules the Crow Party, not leaders. Leaders in the Crow Party are those who lead from the front and do the hard work of their followers with them. Crows have better things to do than talk to lobbyists and make a name for themselves. Crows are servants to the Murder by nature, and servants to those outside the collective Murder by calling. Politics is meant to be an act of service to the people, not to the self as modern leaders seem to believe.
Crows know that the older one is the further from the future they are. Thus, Crows greatly prefer candidates 35-45, as they are the most between the phases of life. Look at that age category of politicians globally in democracies, and you’ll see a trend. If those people could just steal the reins of power, things would quickly change. But the elders are clinging to their power almost as much as their money, and not as closely as their guns in America. The Crow motto is, “Forward momentum for the people with every act.” Everything we do is for the people, and trying to make the world a better, more equitable place for all of them, not just their supporters.
The structure of these party principles and be applied to any democracy in the world, and is more ideally suited towards the politics of nations who already give party control to their politicians proportionally based on total vote, and not in the two party system of America.
Welcome to the Crow Party…
Crow Voting
When voting in a Crow election, anyone can vote. Only people who must declare for the party are those seeking votes. That is when one should declare their loyalties, no reason to do so before. By allowing outsiders to vote, it ensures a more popular outcome for all Crows. Even if people don’t vote for the Crow that wins, they voted in the process and therefore shows that they care about the cause. It gives them an emotional feeling like they are a part of the collective struggle and helps them maintain support for the cause in the long run. Crow politicians have a key job of making those votes count in their own votes and actions as a member of the party serving the populace while working in the government. Crows don’t serve America, or any nation, Crows serve their people. People over party, and people over country.
One vote per person in primaries, as is standard. Caucus is the preferred method of voting, since it allows for more passion during the process. People can truly have their voices directly heard in such places, and it allows for civil discourse.
Consensus Governance
As a policy, Crows must vote for and support anything with a 65% or higher approval rating that does not violate a moral principle all Crows of the time agree is wrong. Being a small murder, Crows know they aren’t the majority and that majority rule is usually for the best. Usually. Many horrific things have happened in democracies.
If a Crow politician violates this core principle, then they immediately lose party membership. No panel, no discussion, a hard rule. Violating Consensus Reality leads to expulsion on the first offense. It is a violation of the oath to serve. If you’re not serving the majority of the people, you’re not serving everyone you can.
Crows may vote differently without violating this rule, as long as their individual district has numbers high enough for consensus for their vote. But if it violates a national consensus, then the national consensus must take priority. The best way is the middle for the most, not the best for a few as most modern politicians seem to think.
Aside from that, each Crow is responsible for their own votes and to their own voters. The Murder does not rule the Crows, the Crows rule the Murder. And no Crow rules the Crows. Crows only serve with other Crows, and do not serve just one of them or just themselves.
While in office, Crows build bridges and try to find solutions. Arguing and fighting are time wasted that Crows could be doing better things, they should realize time is our most valuable resource. We never know when it’ll run out and no one can get more no matter how much money and power is attained.
To solve a problem Crows will work with anyone, they have no enemies, only people with different perspectives. You fight enemies, you work with people you have disagreements with. It’s a core problem of modern politics, everyone focused on small tribes not seeing we are one large tribe now thanks to the Internet. The secrets are getting harder to hide, and truth is the best solution to a problem.
Term Limits
Crows keep themselves limited in terms. A Crow politician loses membership in the party if they run for an office beyond that office’s term listed.
Congressional House Members in the US get 4 2-year terms. Senators get 2 6-year terms. Executives get two terms. Yearly elected officials get 10 years, any position.
These limits apply to all elected offices that a Crow holds or runs for. A Crow can take a different job in government, which is encouraged. Great Senators are trained in the House, and spend time in college student governments.
No crow can run for office past 55. After a few terms in the House of Representatives nationally, you’ve got a lifetime retirement package. Take the money and run, live out your best life, and let those born in the future take care of it. Your children do not belong to you, they belong to the future.
The purpose of this is to avoid stagnation and accumulation of power in any one position. A member of the government who does the same job their whole career by the end is doing it for the job and not the people. Look at the damage Pelosi, a brilliant politician, has done to her party by staying on so long and being an easy target for opponents to vilify. By allowing oneself to become the other party’s Scarecrow, you give them power. By keeping people out of one position for extended periods, there is never enough time for Crow Party opponents to establish a narrative to create a boogeyman to rally against and monetize their fundraising efforts with.
Elections
Elections are the foundation of any form of democratic society. Elections must be secure and trusted. If people don’t trust elections, they don’t trust the government. How much do you think Russian people trust Putin? Without that trust, oligarchs rule the day and power mongers more easily take control. Look at how Fox News has destroyed public trust while ensnaring their viewers in an alternate reality.
Crows accept the results of elections unless there is evidence to the contrary. Real evidence. Consensus among the Murder does not mean true consensus. Defeat is a part of life, and far more revealing of character and intentions than any victory ever will be. In defeat you find out who you are, in a political victory you just get people to believe in who you said you were. Words need weight behind them, otherwise they’re empty.
Crows support election workers. Those people are usually volunteers doing the hard work of democracies without any thanks and now threats in many places including America. Nobody should have to have to experience what Ruby Freeman did at the hands of a megalomaniac lying narcissist like Donald Trump. If America ever has a worse president, it will be its last. He may still be that, his talk openly of being a dictator on day one in December of 2023.
Crows love elections because it lets everyone have a voice in a process that they are disconnected from.
Crow Party Self-Governance
Those running the apparatus of the Crow Party also must take membership. Their governance follows the same rules as the rest, including term limits. All of these are executive positions.
There will be a governing body of five, each with different responsibilities.
Overwatch Crow - This Crow is the one who monitors the entire system. They get three votes in the council. They must have more weight behind their words and need a full council to vote against them.
Propaganda Crow - This is the media and messaging crow. They run the messaging for crows and help them get in touch with good propagandists. Propaganda is not inherently bad, the Crash Test Dummies propaganda saved many lives. Propaganda is just a tool like a gun, just one with practical uses beyond killing humans. This Crow must be a master of visual, audio, and written propaganda to fully complete the task.
Investigating Crow - This is the one in charge of finding out and researching information. This crow and their agents follow media and social media trying to find things to help the Crow Party cause. These are mostly digital keyboard warriors, reading and writing their findings down for the benefit of all. This Crow must have excellent research, reading, and writing skills to do this job effectively.
Crow Crowd Master - This crow manages the Crow protest chapters, organizing and uniting them. These Crows help those organize behind principles of resistance. A Crow Crowd Master understands that those Crows below them are not swords, but shields. Not to attack with but to defend. These Crows are the marchers and protesters, using their bodies nonviolently to make the Crow message heard. They use their leaders' voices and chants to make that message clear. Defense, never offense.
Law Crow - This is the top legal Crow expert in the entire Murder. Below this Crow are many other lawyer Crows all working to make sure that the Crow Party is following the rules and that the rules are working as they should be. Rules matter, it’s a measure of discipline. Law Crows know this best, that it is only through the law that true justice can ever be served. For the law is the most powerful of all weapons: words.

Support Crows
Crows are needed at all levels of a Murder. Some to watch, some to work, some to fundraise. Only when a Murder works together can any Investigation truly be made. One Crow can be weak and alone, a Murder is always strong and supportive. Depend on your fellow Crows, and be dependable. Ask not what your Murder can do for you, but what you can do WITH your Murder. Murders come in sizes small and large, but all connected to the Grand Murder of all Crows, for the entire species is a Murder, just some not realize they’re Crows.
They are no Crow enemies, only people that must be helped when in need of guidance. Sometimes life requires hard love.
Fundraising
Crows raise their own money for elections until elections are publicly funded. All donations to Crows are a matter of public record, and Crows accept no anonymous money. Crow Political NGOs and PACs must follow these rules as well, no dark money.
The basics of fundraising are easy to do. But Crows try to give value to those who give to them, by trading our art for their money. Swag must be beautiful and elegant to be Crow Swag. Crows are regal, and the things they make should be as well.
Online crowdsourcing seems to be the most viable model for these things. Always let the youth lead the way here, they know the future better than any old person and its ways are natural to the youth. It has been the secret of many successful campaigns, it is just that the winner always seems to forget who got them there…
